This past weekend was spent in my happy place: surrounded by horses and cowboys. After spending 41 hours volunteering at the “best little fair in Canada”, the Carp Fair, I came home with enough dirt up my nose to make a sandbox, swollen lips that looked like a botox job gone wrong and a sun burn like my skin had never seen light before. But you know what? I wouldn’t change a thing.
In case you don’t know, I have a slight obsession with heavy horses…and cowboys. The heavy horse show at the Carp Fair was another incredible spectacle. Twenty-six 6 hitch entries on Saturday and twenty-five on Sunday, not to mention all of the classes in-between. Words won’t do it justice so I’ll let the pictures talk.
While I didn’t get to ride in a hitch class this weekend, I did sneak in a couple of victory laps with the winners. I figure that qualifies me to drive my own hitch next year, right?
